THE CLYDE YACHT CLUBS’ ASSOCIATION

ONE DESIGN FLEETS

Individual handicaps are recognised to be unnecessary where a class is genuinely One Design, and has in place a local administration which demonstrably ensures conformance with Class Association rules. Such classes will come and go as fashions change. You can access details of the currently recognised Clyde One Design Fleets from the Home Page.

It is not necessary for new owners to apply for a CYCA Handicap for such a Registered Regulated One Design boat racing under handicap. An annual charge equivalent to one new application is levied from the appropriate Class Associations.

Classes wishing to be considered for One Design status should contact the Honorary Secretary. It lies to the discretion of the Executive Committee, taking counsel from the Handicap Committee, to award this status, and to withdraw it when the required infrastructure is perceived no longer to exist.
