GOLD CUP In 1937
the Clyde Yacht Clubs’ Conference donated the perpetual International Gold
Cup, made of gold, to bring together competitors of as many countries of different
nationalities as possible for yacht racing in a friendly spirit - so
perpetuating the good feeling which existed at the first International Clyde
Fortnight in 1936. The Clyde Yacht Clubs’ Conference has become this
Association and the International Dragon Gold Cup the Dragon Gold Cup. A sub-committee
comprising two past chairmen maintains important liaison between the CYCA,
the International Dragon Association, and the clubs selected to host this
prestigious event. |
